Modern Thermal Design has developed a CO2 capture platform that captures CO2 from engine and turbine exhaust. We capture this CO2, and our clients can do one of the following:
CO2 Capture
- 1. Capture the CO2 and transport it to one of the US EPA-certified CO2 well sites. The IRA has increased the commodity price of CO2 by raising the value of the 45Q tax credit. The price varies depending on the source of CO2 as well as the way the CO2 is handled. CO2 injected into a class 6 well for permanent geologic storage would receive a 45Q credit valued at $85/tonne or $180/tonne, depending on whether it was captured from industrial/power generation facilities or through direct air capture facilities.
- 2. Beverage-Grade CO2: Our technology will allow the CO2 to be cleaned to beverage-grade quality. This means you can sell, under contract, this CO2 to beverage companies (Bottling Plants) and dry ice manufacturers. Typical sales are $250-$350/Ton of CO2
Just one small 200 kW microturbine can make and sell beverage grade CO2. 200 kW turbine will produce over 1,100 tons CO2 beverage-grade per year.
1,100 tons x $300.00/ton = $330,000.00 per year.
